The generosity committee is kicking off the annual pledge drive with something a little different this year. The focus is “You are the seed”. We are talking a lot about growing the church this year. That means different things to different people as evidenced by the recent brainstorming meeting.

The packet of seeds that were given should be brought home today to focus on growing your faith. Are you ready to make a commitment to the health and vitality of this church? Do you show love and consideration to your fellow parishioners? Is God your refuge from the harsh realities of this world? Do you listen when God speaks? Can you be a better person?
Each of us has the potential to grow in our faith.

I take inspiration from the words of Jesus:

Luke 8:15
“as for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience”

There is a lot of talk about the Sunday school rooms. When I attended Sunday school in the early 60’s, part of the basement had a dirt floor. It is amazing to see the changes taking place. There has been a flurry of painting and renovations on these premises. It is all good, with good people behind it all.

How do we grow the church? It starts with you—You are the seed. As you grow in your faith, the bounty will be plentiful.

You will receive a letter soon asking for your financial support, your 2016 Pledge. Please respond with a generous heart.

I leave you with the words of Jesus:

Matthew 17:20
“ I tell you the truth, if you had faith, even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain ‘Move from here to there, and it would move. Nothing would be impossible”.

Thank you and Gods blessings!
